On the track, Nous Alpha share: "'Fox Hollow' is constructed to a very precise and minimal plan. Ten 30-second sections of groove from our jam sessions in the woods are hard cut against each other, and each section is made by Bono and Jones alternately. It was a fast and intuitive process. A melodic second layer was then constructed working backwards from the end, where Christopher played a prophet rig and Gareth played his modular rig. It's a process-based composition that exposes the sound of the forest and the beauty of the electronics impeccably." An intoxicating and experimental electronic excursion dropping alongside a mesmerizing video created by Chilean visual artist Paola Olea, bringing the beautiful and intricately produced ‘Fox Hollow’ to life. These shimmering, tripped out pulses are an ideal match for the oscillations of the track. Speaking on the video, Paola Olea says: "The piece is a dance of rhythmic pulses that synchronize in an organic visual landscape which makes the imagery bloom, inviting us to join a sensory journey." A Walk In The Woods is the anticipated follow up to their 2019 debut, Without Falsehood. A Walk In The Woods is a collaboration with the natural world through the lens of modern music technology, with natural elements created by performing with found objects in the dense woods of the nearby Catskill Mountains and around the studio. The duo created ‘foraged sounds’ using stones and rocks, sampling trees and birds and other natural sounds - note the sounds of a tranquil pond and the distinctive mechanical sounds of a bicycle. While meditative walks in the woods provided the impetus for the tracks, the trees surrounding the studio also became a place for spiritual rejuvenation. The result of their ritualistic approach to the project is a body of work steeped in harmony and balance – of beauty and melancholy, of technology and nature, signaling two like-minded spiritual beings in creative lockstep with each other.
