Ramey Racing Engine Swap at Fast Fest Live

Watch the Ramey Racing crew remove and replace a motor at the track! During Shawn Ramey's qualifying pass at Fast Fest Live Maple Grove, he ran a 8.4 but unfortunately the oil pump said no more. They changed the motor out at the track and I was able to capture it, pretty cool to see a car completely torn down and reassembled then sent right back down the track. Part Failure is a part of racing. When you are making insane power and testing the limits of parts constantly, things can go wrong. Shawn Ramey experienced this at Fast Fest Live last weekend, good thing he travels with a back up motor! I was able to capture the "thrash" as we call it- they dismantled and reassembled the motor, basically everything has to come apart and all done at the track with limited tools and comfort compared to the shop. It is one of my favorite things to capture as it shows how hard a team is willing to work just to race another round. It is never a good thing when you see an expensive motor take a crap on you but these guys got the job done - hope you enjoy what was captured!
