We control the robot, do the dissection and take out a piece of the patient's lung. We take out the lung with all the lymph nodes and tissues that surround the cancer.” Patients typically go home within 24 hours of surgery. “Now the patient is cured, and we just follow them along with annual CAT scans or repeat CAT scans,” said Dr. Patel.
