Here we have a video, introducing a series of further videos to follow. Here we will have a look at our "tired looking", 5" Gauge GWR 0-6-0 1500 class locomotive, 1507 "SPEEDY". I purchased this locomotive many years ago, from "Antique Steam". When I purchased it, it was a fairly new built, almost un-run model sporting green painted wheels. (if anybody recognizes that description and could supply any history details that would be great). The loco has a Bishop Ellis boiler, and has given good reliable service to me and my son, and now to my grandchildren, over the years. The videos to follow, will be a detailed slide show with "text", generally showing the construction, painting, and fitting of various components as I do modifications and add "much needed" detail to the loco. I have in the past replaced the piston valve bobbins, and think it may be time to look at them again, and check the piston packings of the main cylinders. I do not class myself as an experienced model engineer, just a guy having a go and learning along the way. I hope you find this, and the upcoming videos, of some interest and of some help too, if you are just starting out in the hobby, or thinking of doing so.
