A multidisciplinary project about colonized Crimea and colonized identity,Crimean hostages of russia https://www.instagram.com/the_colony_... _______________ What is known about the third Dzhankoy group in the “Hizb ut-Tahrir case” On the morning of March 5, 2024, Russian security forces conducted searches of ten Crimean Tatars in the Bakhchisaray and Dzhankoy districts of Crimea. On the same day, the “court” arrested four of them — Crimean Tatar activists Memet Lyumanov, Aziz Azizov, Rustem Osmanov, and Mustafa Abduramanov. They were sent to Pre-Trial Detention Center No. 2 until May 4, 2024. On March 6, the occupation court imposed preventive measures on six Crimean Tatar activists. Former imam Remzi Kurtnezorov was placed under house arrest. The occupation court imposed a preventive measure in the form of detention in a pre-trial detention center until May 5 this year on Nariman Ametov, Ali Mamutov, Arsen Kashka, Enver Khalilayev, and Vakhid Mustafayev. All are accused of participating in the Islamic political party Hizb ut-Tahrir. Many of the detainees are parents of large families. On April 25, the occupation Kyiv District Court of Simferopol extended the arrest of the defendants in the third Dzhankoy group of the “Hizb ut-Tahrir case.” These are Crimean Tatars from Dzhankoy and the Dzhankoy district — Enver Khalilayev, Nariman Ametov, Ali Mamutov, activist Arsen Kashka, and the imam of the mosque in the village of Lobanovo, Vakhid Mustafayev. They will remain in Simferopol Pre-Trial Detention Center No. 2 until August 3. Crimean political prisoner Ali Mamutov was recently transferred from Crimea to Rostov-on-Don, which was another blow not only for the political prisoner but also for his family. This was reported to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center by the political prisoner's brother, Fevzi Mamutov. Since his arrest, the political prisoner's relatives have been going through difficult times, separated between the occupied territories and the areas controlled by Ukraine. Mamutov's wife, who remained in Crimea, is trying to support her family during this difficult time, despite constant obstacles and psychological pressure. Her children give her hope, especially the Mamutovs' youngest son, for whom the absence of his father is a huge trauma. “The youngest son depends most on his father, on his opinion and presence,” says Fevzi Mamutov. While still behind bars in occupied Crimea, Ali's health problems worsened, as the detention center does not provide access to medication, which has negatively affected the political prisoner's health. “After arriving in Rostov behind bars, Ali's hypertension (high blood pressure) worsened. This is due to the irregular intake of certain medications that any person suffering from chronic high blood pressure needs,” says the political prisoner's brother. However, unlike in Crimea, where political prisoners were under great psychological pressure, the situation in Rostov is slightly better for Ali Mamutov, because, according to his brother, “the guards understand that these are trumped-up charges.” Currently, the occupiers in Crimea are deliberately leaving political prisoners without medicine in order to cause them even more suffering. Currently, the occupiers in Crimea are deliberately leaving political prisoners without medicine in order to cause them even more suffering. “In the occupied territories, they are creating obstacles to the delivery of medicines for 4-5 days, and this is being done deliberately so that chronic diseases worsen,” said Fevzi Mamutov. The occupiers understand that they are not on their own territory and, because of their fear, they are putting more pressure on people. “In the occupied territories, they behave like frightened ‘policemen’, understanding their falseness and transience. Because of this fear, they mock prisoners morally and physically,” Fevzi Mamutov emphasized. Ali Mamutov has not yet been sentenced, and court hearings are being canceled without explanation. This is done in order to psychologically break people and drag out the proceedings.
