Dates of Service: 23 May 1989 through- 31 December 2024 Command Sergeant Major David B. Lewis was born in Great Falls, MT and enlisted in the active Army in 1989. He completed the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Specialist Course (74D) at Fort McClellan, Alabama in October 1989. Command Sergeant Major Lewis completed his military service as the Command Sergeant Major for the 1889th Regional Support Group (RSG) Brigade, Montana Army National Guard, Butte MT, and the G1 Sergeant Major for all Army Military Personnel within the Montana Army National Guard, Fort Harrison, MT. His military assignments included the 4th Chemical Company, Camp Casey, Korea; 46th Chemical Company, Fort Hood, TX; CO C 2-163D Cavalry Battalion, Missoula, MT; CO C (-) 1- 163D Infantry Battalion, Missoula, MT; CO D (-) 1-189th General Support Aviation Battalion (GSAB), Helena, MT; 95th Troop Command, Fort Harrison MT; G1 Joint Force Headquarters, Fort Harrison, MT; 1889th Regional Support Group (RSG) Brigade Butte MT. Command Sergeant Major Lewis’s leadership positions include CBRN NCO, Infantry Squad Leader, Aviation Maintenance Platoon Sergeant, Readiness NCO, Battalion Senior Human Resources NCO, Brigade Senior Human Resources NCO, G-1 Retirement Services NCO, Montana Army National Guard State Enlisted Personnel Manager, G1 Sergeant Major, and Brigade Command Sergeant Major. His civilian education consists of a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies from Purdue University Global. His military education includes the Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Non-Commissioned Officer’s Course, Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer’s Course, Mechanized Infantryman Course, Human Resources Specialist Course, CH-47 Helicopter Repairer Course, Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education Course, and the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Class 45 (DL).
