[OC Animatic] Meant To Be + Quartet At The Ballet (Anastasia)

"Meant To Be"    • Meant To Be - Anastasia Original Broadway ...   and "Quartet At The Ballet"    • Quartet at the Ballet - Anastasia Original...   are from Anastasia The Musical. All right go to the cast and crew who worked on this production and rendition. Also credit to the 1997 movie, Anastasia, which this musical is based on. Also the history and legends surrounding of the Romanov family of Imperial Russia. What is this?: I'm doing something very special that will take ages, but its just a bunch of fun side projects lines up for me to do. Basically i have ALL these OCs and i love them and i also love musicals, so i chose 16 different musicals that i love and paired each one to an OC. Then i picked 1 song from each musical and i am going to make an animatic to each of those songs. So when I'm all done i will have 16 different OCs playing the main role in 16 different musicals and they each will have an animatic featuring them singing a song from their musical. Make sense? I usually see 1 defining main character in every musical, so I tried matching up OC's personalities to fit the main character of their musicals. It was actually really fun to plan out. All of the OCs feature in each others musicals and side characters, but everyone has their moment to shine in their own musicals :D For Example (Cast): Anastasia- Cascadia (This is her musical) Dimitri- Variel Gleb- Alya Empress- Kiyo Vlad- Penny Lily- Citrine CONTEXT (Spoilers): These two songs are reaching the climax of the story. I won't give away too much detail, but i want to give you a small overview of whats going on in the musical at this point and how i have incorporated my touch to it! :) So basically Gleb is trying to kill Anya, because she is the last member of the Romanov family alive and the Bolshevik revolution that just took place sought to completely end the imperial rule of the Romanov family. (I recommend looking up the history of Imperial Russia and specifically Anastasia and her family. After all, this story was based on historical events that actually happened.) Dimitri and Vlad, two con men, seek to claim the large reward for bringing back the missing Princess Anastasia to her grandmother, the Empress, all the way in Paris. They trick Anya, an orphan girl who lost her memories very young, into thinking she was is the missing princess (spoiler alert: she really is the missing princess). The three of them set course for Paris in hopes of reuniting Anya with her family and scoring that sweet reward. Stuff happens, they get to Paris, and now they must convince the Empress that Anya is her granddaughter. Dimitri and Anya start falling in love, but they know it probably won't last after they go their separate ways. Anya is worried that the Empress will think she is a fake and turn her away. Dimitri really wants to help Anya find her family and be happy. Vlad is just a proud dad who has a thing for the Empress' lady in waiting, Lily. The Empress is so fed up with all the fake Anastasias that she has just assumed her to be dead and has given up all hope of finding her. Gleb lowkey has a crush on Anya, but knows he must kill her for the sake of his country. This is where this animatic comes in. Everyone is preparing for the night that could change their futures. When i first heard the song i thought the title said "Ball" and not "Ballet", so i originally imagined this scene taking place at a ball or big party. When deciding to make this song as an animatic i felt it was a good choice to make the scene at a ball. This would allow for much more movement and keep the viewer interested in what was happening, rather than just have the characters sit in seats and sing the whole time. Also it made the process much more entertaining for me.
