It's a long video but full of history as this is a video of the Birthday celebration of Whiskey 7, the C-47 at the National Warplane Museum in Geneseo NY on September 23rd, 2023. This C-47 is one of just a few planes still flying today. It was delivered to the US Army Air Force on September 23, 1943. So this year, Whiskey 7 is 80 years old but is still going strong - offering rides and sharing her history with others. She was lead plane in the second wave in the early morning hours on D-Day, June 6, 1944, dropping members of the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR) of the 82nd Airborne on and around Sainte-Mere-Eglise. She also participated in many other notable campaigns like Operation Market Garden later that same year.
