If you're looking for a rear fender eliminator kit, or tail tidy, for your Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, then you might already know that Germany company HRT (Hessler Rallye Team) is the only game in town. It's a well-finished product from a premium company with loads of Suzuki knowledge, and an admirable rally racing pedigree to boot. But obtaining and installing the 800DE Desert Express Rear 2.0 system (U.S. version) is not exactly a simple process. For one, HRT is not distributed in the United States, and can only be ordered direct from Herr Hessler in Deutschland. Challenge number two, step-by-step instructions are well spelled out in a video by Stefan Hessler himself... in German. Good luck with that. I recently obtained a tail tidy from HRT (after patiently waiting for Germany to return from its summer break), and went through the installation process myself, documenting our progress in my own video—in English (you're welcome)—to help out anyone interested in ordering the HRT tail tidy fender eliminator kit and installing yourself. Check out some of our findings during the install, some oversights and complications we found, some errors we (I) made and the work-arounds that got us to the finish line. Gotta give big thanks to my boyfriend and garage mentor Luke Adams for guiding me through the tough parts, doing most of the drilling, cutting and fabricating, and generally helping me look like I know what I'm doing. Without him it would be me and my nail file... taking a veeeeeery long time to cut down that rear tail piece. lol This install how-to is part of a bigger project build on my 2023 Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, and there is more to come on this. Watch for more videos revealing the modifications and improvements made to this incredible capable middleweight ADV platform, that has a ton of potential. My goal is to unlock that potential with a "real-world" build that will retain the original handling characteristics, road comfort, and street-legality of the stock 800DE. Follow along and we'll see where we land. PARTS LINKS: HESSLER RALLYE TEAM WEBSITE: DR. BIG SHOP - 800DE DESERT EXPRESS REAR 2.0 https://www.dr-big-shop.de/DL800DE_Tu...
