Feel free to subscribe—I’d love to see you there too! Link: / @sa_distanthorizon Sincerely yours, Spectral Anomaly. ✨ No one remembers who built it. No one remembers when it was abandoned. The records, if they ever existed, have long since vanished—consumed by time, lost in the static of forgotten transmissions. The first explorers who stumbled upon it called it The Terminal Reliquary, a name spoken in hushed voices, as if saying it too loudly would awaken whatever slumbered in its hollow corridors. It stood as a monument to a civilization that had simply ceased, a city within a city, its brutalist monoliths stacked upon one another in an impossible geometry. Bridges led nowhere, corridors looped back upon themselves, and the silence was oppressive, broken only by the slow drip of water and the distant groan of shifting metal. The most striking feature of the reliquary, however, was the train—suspended in mid-air, frozen in transit like an insect trapped in amber. Its yellow paint had faded to a sickly gold, vines creeping through shattered windows, its body rusted and worn. Yet, despite the corrosion, there was something unnatural about its position, as if it had never fallen, never derailed, simply halted mid-motion by an unseen force. The pools of stagnant water below reflected the train with perfect clarity—too perfect. The explorers who gazed into them swore they saw movement beneath the surface, distortions that did not match the world above. Some claimed they saw shadows slipping through the submerged ruins, others swore the reflections lagged behind reality, displaying moments that had not yet occurred. They set up a temporary station near the structure, broadcasting reports back to the orbital relay. The first few days yielded nothing but silence. Then, the recordings changed. At exactly 03:17 every night, the radio crackled to life with the sound of a distant station announcement. The voice was garbled, indistinct, speaking in a language no one could decipher. It repeated the same sequence every time, followed by a sound like metal screeching against metal—a sound no one could locate the source of. On the seventh night, one of the team members disappeared. The logs showed him staring into the reflection of the train, unmoving, for nearly an hour before the camera feed distorted into static. By morning, his tent was empty, his belongings untouched. The water was still, save for the gentle ripple of something unseen disturbing its surface. By the tenth night, the station was abandoned. The last transmission was a single sentence, spoken in a voice barely above a whisper: "It's not abandoned. We were never alone." No further expeditions were sent. The reliquary remains, standing in its silent vigil, the train still frozen mid-journey, waiting for a departure that will never come. And beneath the water, something watches. Something listens. And something waits. #scifiambient #ambient #ambientmusic #soundscape #backgroundmusic #drone #dystopia #postapocalyptic #postapocalypse #darkambient #emotionalmusic #existentialmusic #noisemusic #meditationmusic #musicforsleep #musicforstudying #musicformeditation #musicforthesoul #musicforstudy #ambientmusicforstudying #ambientmusicforsleep #ambientmusicforwork #musicforprogramming #relaxingambientmusic #dystopianmusic #ambientsound #ambientsoundscapes #spectralanomaly #scarymusic #horrormusicsoundeffect #horromusic
