Destiny 2's Season of the Deep has brought us some unexpected surprises, and one of them is... fishing! In the reveal trailer for Season of the Deep, Bungie teased this new activity, available in the patrol areas of Destiny 2. But fishing in Destiny is not your ordinary fishing experience. It's a thrilling and rewarding adventure! Today, we dive deep into the purpose of the Focused Fishing buff during your fishing sessions. As you approach a Fishing Pond and start your fishing journey, you'll notice the appearance of the Focused Fishing buff. At first, it might seem insignificant, but its importance becomes apparent as you progress. To increase the Focused Fishing buff, you need to catch fish of Legendary quality. And that's where the excitement begins! Every catch counts, and each Legendary fish you reel in contributes to filling up the buff's bar. To increase your chances of catching higher-quality fish, you must master the art of the Perfect Catch. Keep a close eye on your bobber and press the designated button at the right moment for a Perfect Catch. But here's the best part: fishing together with fellow Guardians not only enhances the experience but also boosts your chances of finding rarer fish over time. The longer you fish together at a specific location, the more valuable the Focused Fishing buff becomes! And speaking of rare fish, there's even an Exotic fish waiting to be discovered! While the Focused Fishing buff increases your catch rate, obtaining the Exotic fish remains a matter of luck. Some Guardians might find it quickly, while others may embark on a more prolonged adventure. But fear not! Fishing in Destiny is highly rewarding. For every Exotic fish caught, the game grants you an Exotic armor piece and sometimes even an ascendant shard. And let's not forget about the Legendary fish. They provide ample amounts of legendary gear, making it an excellent source for farming new equipment, especially this season's weapons.
