This video was recorded on November 18th, 2025 at the iOSoho Meetup in New York City. https://www.meetup.com/iosoho/events/... First Talk Description: • Introduction to Swift Charts Aaron Preston An introduction to using Swift Charts via a self-created financial sample app. Aaron has been working in the mobile space since the days of the flip phones. He started his career working in the mobile gaming industry where he spent 5 plus years working for Electronic Arts. After fulfilling his childhood dreams by working on titles such as Madden and The Simpsons, Aaron transitioned out of gaming and spent a number of years working as an independent contractor (which included building a few Android applications!), before eventually landing in the financial services industry. When not managing engineers, Aaron likes to play basketball, travel as much as possible, and explore the city in search of a good cocktail. Second Talk Description: • A Fresh New Look for iOSoho Paul Miard & Jacob Johnson The iOSoho logo is retiring after 12 years of good and faithful service! Please join us to hear about our fresh new look and logo! We'll tell you all about it in this engaging lightning talk. Featuring Jacob Johnson who is the artist behind this new look. Third Talk Description: • The Unexpected Power of Augmented Reality in AI Systems Dania Popov & Trevor Beaton At Arena we build AI systems that help technicians and electrical engineers troubleshoot real world hardware problems. One surprising source of leverage was augmented reality. Not as a demo feature but as a front line UI that actually reduces cognitive load at the moment of troubleshooting. In this talk we will share the practical lessons that came from integrating ARKit and Vision pipelines directly into our AI driven workflows. We will cover the architectural patterns that emerged inside the iOS app as we iterated quickly, and the Swift Package structures that let a tiny team ship and reuse these components at a fast pace. We will also show how with a little bit of tooling we use “localization” in a clever way to support white labeling and domain reuse across industries from one codebase. Dania is an engineering leader with 12 years of experience building products across industries, from founding startups to shaping global systems at Airbnb used by millions of travelers. Now at Arena Dania helps to architect and build their Field App. This product is solving for our clients common pain-points. It does this by providing the intelligence of Atlas in a mobile experience. Trevor is an iOS developer at Arena, where he’s helping solve problems to help technicians diagnose and repair equipment across automotive, manufacturing, and drone industries using augmented reality with AI guidance. Previously, he spent seven years at Adafruit Industries developing Bluetooth, WiFi, and AR applications for the maker community, creating apps featured on Apple's website and at WWDC events. He primarily uses SwiftUI, ARKit/RealityKit , and building mobile experiences that bridge technical systems with hands-on workflows.
