just! Severe hailstorm hits the United States! Severe tornado and hail! Destroy the whole city! Welcome to subscribe! Welcome to subscribe! A severe thunderstorm system rolled through the Midwest on Thursday, bringing severely damaging hail. This catastrophic hailstorm devastated many states, including Nebraska and Iowa, causing extensive damage. From Nebraska to Iowa, these giant hailstones smashed into buildings, cars and crops like fierce artillery shells, causing unprecedented destruction in the area. In Irvington, Nebraska, drones captured shocking scenes - roofs of several houses were blown off and debris was scattered everywhere. The Irvington Fire Department said on Facebook that "some people were taken to the hospital for injuries," but it was unclear how many people were injured. The National Weather Service assessed the damage in the area to be at least as severe as an EF3 tornado. Just northwest of Omaha, in Irvington, the hail hit like bullets, causing severe damage to the area. Observatory meteorologist and storm chaser Tony Laubach had his car windshield shattered by baseball-sized hail near Fremont while reporting for The Weather Network. In McClelland, Iowa, hail as big as basketballs ripped the exterior of a house into pieces, exposing the insulation and walls inside the house. The sudden hailstorm not only smashed homes and vehicles, but also caused serious damage to infrastructure. In Coeberg, Iowa, the weather station recorded winds of 86 mph, while in Fremont, gusts reached 82 mph. The National Weather Service will continue to survey damage this week to determine where more tornadoes are headed. Unfortunately, this is just the beginning. Weather forecasts show that the area from Texas to Ohio will experience more rounds of severe thunderstorms, posing a continued threat to local residents.
