Featuring misleading titles from the Divine Shot series :( So, yeah, I kinda hate this one. It’s supposed to be “Aciel vs Aciel”, yet Demi-Fiend is the one doing nearly all of the damage. I have nothing to blame but myself for being lazy last playthrough and not bothering to actually make a good Aciel. Siiigh. I encourage you to dislike the video for clickbait titles Anyway, about the fight itself. Aciel has both Dekunda and Dekaja (according to the wiki, at least), but as I found out after a few attempts, he pretty much never uses them. At all. Even if you buff to +4 or -4 in a stat, he just won’t use them. Now, Aciel’s signature move is Sol Niger (Latin or something for Black Sun. It’s an alchemy term. It’s not what you’re thinking). This move has a 100% hit rate (I think), and will reduce everyone’s HP to 1. Like Skadi, he gives a warning whenever he’s about to use it: Dragon Eye followed by spamming Mana Drain. He always follows this up with a normal attack, which is obviously guaranteed to kill whoever it hits. The key phrase here being “whoever it hits.” Use Fog Breath to get him to -4 accuracy (some Sukukaja stacks on top of that couldn’t hurt either), so that when he does use Sol Niger, it’s almost certain that he’ll miss. Of course, he still could hit, so it’s best to finish him off quickly to minimize the amount of times he can use it, just like Skadi. The most common strategy used to defend against Sol Niger is Tetrakarn, and Aciel actually does learn Tetrakarn, at level 79. After that, he learns the very-useful Hell Fang at level 80, and at 81 he learns Victory Cry, which is one of the best skills in the game, in my opinion. But, I certainly didn’t want to grind up by two entire levels in this midgame-ish dungeon, since it would take sooo long. If it had taken many more attempts, I probably would have, but I decided to see if I could do it without grinding first. Sorry again for this trash video. Notes/rules of the run: In this run of Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, I’ll be fighting all the bosses (including optional bosses) using only themselves. This is NG+. It would be impossible to do this on a regular New Game, since you can’t fuse boss demons until you beat them (with some exceptions, like Mizuchi). I’m doing it on Hard mode, since Normal would be too easy. This is not meant to be impressive, it’s just entertaining (hopefully). Not all bosses can be done in this challenge, for various reasons. There’s no way to get Forneus before his boss fight, since the Compendium doesn’t get unlocked until Shibuya, which is after the hospital. Specter, Mara, the Reason bosses, Kagutsuchi, and Lucifer don’t have summonable demon equivalents. Dante/Raidou can’t be summoned from the Compendium even in NG+, so you can only get them in any playthrough by recruiting them in the 5th Kalpa, which happens after both of their fights. I hope you enjoy it!
