Canoeing Brooklyn's Notoriously Polluted Gowanus Canal

Everyone advised against doing this... but I did it anyway. Join me as I canoe along the Gowanus Canal, one of the most polluted canals in New York City and the United States. The Gowanus Canal is designated a superfund site and is scheduled to be cleaned up by 2030. Currently it is a waterway where untreated sewage overflows after heavy rains and has a thick layer of "black mayonnaise" at the bottom from years of industrial pollution. Even though this canal is highly contaminated, our time here was peaceful, unique, and so much fun.
