Caminos de Arte Rupestre Prehistórico CARP, UN ITINERARIO CULTURAL DEL CONSEJO DE EUROPA El Itinerario Cultural Caminos de Arte Rupestre Prehistórico ofrece hasta 112 grandes destinos arqueológicos y rupestres de gran interés científico, cultural, artístico y arqueológico, todos ellos abiertos al conocimiento y disfrute de la sociedad europea y mundial. Actualmente, casi dos millones de visitantes acuden cada año a los enclaves donde los primeros habitantes de Europa plasmaron su trascendental Arte Rupestre, un arte lleno de simbolismo motivado por creencias religiosas, y repleto de referencias a la Naturaleza, que conformó los primeros Paisajes Culturales europeos.La inmensa mayoría de estos sitios incorporan un gran capital simbólico y forman parte del Patrimonio Cultural europeo, pero son también elementos conformadores de identidad a nivel local. Ese capital simbólico se hace presente a través de su inclusión en la Lista del Patrimonio Mundial de UNESCO.La vinculación entre arte rupestre y paisaje sirve para generar una oferta de turismo tematizada y rigurosa que integra Cultura y Naturaleza, paisaje y patrimonio cultural, lo que contribuye al desarrollo sostenible de los territorios rurales donde se sitúan los destinos incorporados al itinerario. The Cultural Route CARP offers 112 great Archaeological and Rock Art sites with the main scientific, cultural, artist and archaeological interest. All these sites are opened to the knowledge and the enjoyment of the European and World society. Currently, more than 1.9 million visitors come each year to the places where the first inhabitants of Europe produced their transcendental rock art, an art full of symbolism motivated by religious belief and full of references to Nature, forming the first Cultural Landscapes of Europe.The vast majority of these places have a great symbolic value and are part of the European Cultural Heritage, but also they are elements that support the local identity. This symbolic value has been recognized in the World Heritage List of UNESCO.The relationship between Prehistoric Rock Art and Landscape is used to produce a thematic tourism offer that integrates Culture and Nature, Landscape and Cultural Heritage. This contributes to a sustainable development of the rural communities where are located all the sites that compose the Cultural Route. UNE ITINÉRAIRE CULTUREL DU CONSEIL DE L'EUROPE Le Itinéraire Culturel CARP offre jusqu’à 112 grandes destinations archéologiques et rupestres de grand intérêt scientifique, culturel, artistique et archéologique, toutes ouvertes à la connaissance et la jouissance de la société européenne et mondiale.
