Discovering fascenation history on the fourth day in Spain. I start near to where my previous video ended, which is by the old city walls of A Coruna, discovering another old set of steps and some inscriptions. Next was down to the castle that I saw yesterday, The Castle of St. Anton here in A Coruna, The castle was quite different to others that I walked around, and there were two interesting little museums to look around. The highlight for me was visiting the castle’s well room, which still contained water. I walked back towards the old city wall and up towards the ruins of the convent. I discovered and old Vickers gun, model 1923, 152mm, mounted in the gardens and a statue to Diego José del Barco y de la Cendeja, one of the heroes of A Coruna during the war of Independence in 1808. The ruins of the Convent of St. Francis, were worth looking at, although not too much to see, it was the history of the convent which was of great interest to me. I ended my day at the military museum, which were opposite the gardens and the grave of Sir John Moore. The museum was undergoing some renovation, but there were still several rooms with impressive displays and of course the big guns outside. ▬ Contents of this video ▬ 0:00 – Intro 0:10 - City walls of A Coruna 1: 55 - Castle of St. Anton, A Coruna 14:48 - Vickers gun model 1923, 152mm 16:25 - Statue of Diego José del Barco y de la Cendeja 18:13 - Convent of St. Francis a Coruna 19:40 - Military Museum, a Coruna 22:00 – End sequence If you enjoyed this video, then please consider subscribing to my channel, as there are plenty of travel and history-based videos to watch and many more on the way. ►Have you considered sponsoring my channel by joining me as a member?
