Hey, neighbors, Kevin here with etrailer. And if you are a 2021 Volkswagen Atlas owner and you plan on towing a trailer, maybe just a utility one so you can haul some things from point A to point B, or you're wanting to take your family out on a nice trip, just like our neighbor today, then the REDARC Tow-Pro Liberty brake controller is going to be the right option for you. Now, whether you're gonna be just hauling some things on a utility trailer that has brakes, maybe you're just getting from point A to point B, or you're taking the whole family out for a nice camping experience, a trailer brake controller is going to be an essential component. What this does is it allows you to actuate the brakes on the trailer so that way the trailer can help stop itself, so it's not putting all that force onto the towing vehicle. And with the Atlas being more of a smaller SUV, it's really not gonna be able to hold up if that trailer has a ton of weight on it. So, having those brakes on that trailer actually activate, is gonna give you a lot better control, much shorter stopping distance, and just it's gonna be overall a whole lot safer of a trip. The Tow-Pro Liberty is a proportional brake controller, and what that means is when I step on my brake pedal, that's going to send the signal up to our main unit, which is tucked up behind our dash, and that's gonna send that a signal back to the trailer brakes and it's going to activate those brakes with the same intensity as how I press on the brake pedal. So, if I'm slamming down on the brake pedal real hard, it's gonna activate the brakes with full power. If I'm only slightly pressing on, it's not going to be as stiff of a stop. Just like with many other brake controllers, ours is also going to have a manual override. If you press in on the button, it's going to send back the full voltage of whatever you have it set at. So, from that 0 all the way up to 10, it's going to send that amount of voltage back to the trailer brakes to activate 'em. And what that's important for is when you start to experience trailer sway, you don't actually want to step on the brake pedal in your tow vehicle. What you wanna do is you wanna keep going forward, press that manual override so it activates the brake on the trailer. And then as it activates those brakes, it's gonna start to pull the trailer straight behind you so that you're not having that swaying. And that way you don't jackknife and end up in a much worse condition. So, the biggest benefit with the Tow-Pro Liberty is that it takes up such a small amount of real estate and makes it a lot easier to install on some of these vehicles like the Atlas, where there really just isn't room to mount a controller. With our traditional knee-knocker-style controllers, you'd have to mount that up on the dash. And it has to be in a certain orientation, otherwise, it's not gonna sense correctly and it's not going to properly send back that signal to the trailer brakes. And the Atlas, it would have to come over here on the driver's side, which is pretty typical. Usually, in like a truck, you'd see it either to the right or the left of the steering column. And when you're getting in and out your vehicle, you really don't want to have to hit your knee on that and, you know, potentially damage your brake controller or tear up the plastic. Because typically, these are gonna come with just a mounting bracket that you just screw right in. Now, behind this dash, there isn't really any room for us to screw into. So, that would've had a hard time putting this in. With the REDARC, it's such a small footprint, and there's a few different control mounting points that we can use. So, this one is the universal one, where we just drilled out 1 inch diameter hole, and we could pop that right in and mount our plug to it. Now, there are other options that go along with this. Vehicle-specific ones that they can knock out a certain blank, if you have that. So, like, originally, what we wanted to do with the Atlas was use this blank right here, and just pop that out, pop in a new one, be good to go. Unfortunately, there was just too much stuff behind that to where we couldn't use it. With this, you're gonna need about two inches of space right behind it. So, if you are looking into do
