We’ve been living aboard our sailboat for 7yrs and in the Bahamas now for the past three months while Ryan’s been working with the Boy Scouts teaching sailing and running adventures out of the Abacos. But on his final trip, news hit that a Category 5 hurricane was tracking straight for us! With little time to prepare, Brittni scrambled at the house to get everything ready while Ryan was still offshore. We packed up, got the boat ready and braced ourselves. Thankfully, the storm veered away at the last moment… but it was a clear sign it was definitely time to leave! As soon as it passed, we set sail with our baby Oakley and dog Jackson onboard dodging squalls and heavy weather on the way out of the Bahamas.
