Boot review. Dewalt workwear review of the boots I wear for woodworking, and for those of you who see Bailey Dog in the videos – either on my woodworking channel, or his own “dog with yellow hoop” channel, for our daily 2 hour 6 to 8 mile dog walks. DEWALT Columbia Men's Waterproof, Steel Toe Cap, S3 Work Boot • Safety Rating: S3WR SRA • Steel Toe Cap 200J • Steel Mid Sole Plate – often referred to anti-puncture insole Ideal for pallet busting. Kick the blocks off the striders Stand on nails. If you like. Personally, I have never tested that bit, but it’s a nice to know in my mind. • Dewalt say Sympatex lining provides an impenetrable barrier against wet weather and chemical spills …. Mmm …. I wear these out winter dog walking and in the main, they are waterproof. I did walk across a stream last year and some water does get in through the lace area …which to be fair, you kind of expect that. Take a little while to break in but for me they are worth the £75 they cost • for the waterproofing, • and the steel sole plate DeWalt Pro-Lite Comfort Brown Safety Boots • Safety Rating: SB P SRA • 200J Aluminium Toe Cap Ideal for pallet busting. Kick the blocks off the striders DON’T Stand on nails. Not waterproof, and no midsole plate. But really, really comfortable. And as it has aluminium toe caps and no steel plate -they are light as well. Ideal for dog walking. Whilst manufacturers quite rightly focus on the safety features in the sole and toe cap areas, the breathability and durability of the upper materials and inner linings. I have a ton of metalwork in one ankle with nuts and bolts sticking up above the ankle line, so, for me the cushioning around the top of the boot is the most desirable part and means I can spend all day in the workshop, or all afternoon walking the dog on the Salisbury Plain - Two of my favourite hobbies.
