Chainstitch Embroidery. Needles, Nipples, Thread: are you doing it right?

In today's video I give some opinions and a tutorial about how to identify the correct Needle - Nipple - Thread combinations. Strap in and get excited to hear me use the phrase "illustrative purposes" like my life depended on it. Our rule of thumb is that we always want to use the smallest possible needle for the job. Here are two main advantages: 1) Smaller needles make smaller holes 2) As needles increase in size from 1-12 so does the anatomy of the entire needle. This means that a #2 needle has a much shorter point than a #12. In practical terms this means you can use a much lower needle height allowing you to pull less thread up through your project creating a more petite line. Smaller needle - less thread - more detail!
