Saturday and Sunday of Week 2 in my Wilmslow Half Marathon block following the Norwegian Singles approach. Saturday – Plans Changed but Training Stayed on Track We had travelled to Telford for a night away — a nice meal, some shopping, and we both ended up buying a pair of Nike Vomero Plus. The plan was to finish the Parkrun Namely Challenge by collecting the letter E at East Park, but overnight snow froze and many Parkruns were cancelled for safety. Because Sunday included my first VO₂ max effort of the block, I had a simple easy 5K scheduled instead of my usual 30-minute sub-threshold. So when we returned home, I ran the easy 5K locally and tested out the new Vomero's, which I was really pleased with. Sunday – Full Send at Malvern XC Sunday was cross country at Malvern — my first proper VO₂ max effort since starting the block. After a couple of weeks of controlled, steady Norwegian Singles sessions, it felt brilliant to let the brakes off and race hard.
