Notes are on my GitHub! github.com/rorg314/WHYBmaths In this video I will introduce the relativity of simultaneity, in a fairly visual manner, using the Minkowski spacetime diagrams for a stationary and boosted observer. We will see that the two observers do not agree on the notion of 'simultaneity' (happening at the same time) since the lines of constant coordinate time are different in each coordinate system. The moving observer will think that two simultaneous events as measured by the stationary observer are happening at different coordinate times (in their moving frame). This was a very visual demonstration of simultaneity, but I hope it serves to give you all the intuition you need about it! In upcoming videos we will discuss length contraction. Everything I make will always be free, but if you like my videos and want to consider supporting the channel I am now accepting donations in DOGE and BTC (other cryptos on request) See my channel description for the addresses!
