Phimosis is a common urological problem in which the foreskin of the penis does not retract fully—a condition that can occur at any age. In this video, Dr. Kinjal Banerjee, Urologist and Kidney Transplant Surgeon, explains its causes, symptoms, risks, and safe treatments. Every male is born with naturally attached foreskin. Normally, with growth and proper hygiene, it gradually loosens and moves back. However, poor hygiene, repeated infections, or health conditions such as diabetes can cause the foreskin to remain tight and stuck. This can lead to frequent infections, discomfort during intimacy, difficulty maintaining cleanliness, and in long-standing cases even raise the risk of penile cancer. Mild or partial phimosis can often be treated with medicated creams, regular oil application, and proper hygiene. But when the foreskin becomes very tight and forms a constricting ring, circumcision—a simple surgical removal of the foreskin—is the recommended treatment. This is a quick day-care procedure with minimal restrictions and excellent recovery. If you have difficulty retracting the foreskin or maintaining hygiene, consult a urologist promptly. Early medical care can prevent complications and restore normal, healthy function. #Phimosis #ForeskinProblems #Circumcision #UrologyCare #UrologistAdvice #MenHealth #PenileHealth #GenitalHygiene #DrKinjalBanerjee #UrologyTreatment
