The film an adaptation of a New York Times article by Basharat Peer from 2020, stars Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor. It follows two childhood friends, who attempt to pass the national police exam. The film had its premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival in Un Certain Regard on 21 May 2025. Sucharita Tyagi is the newly elected Vice Chairperson of the Film Critics Guild of India. With nearly 20 years of media experience, she is best known for her popular movie reviews on YouTube, where she has built a community of dedicated fans. Now splitting her time between Mumbai and New York, Tyagi also has extensive experience in broadcast radio.
