However, most of the good starts and ends with the hiring of Kevin Stefanski. Meanwhile, the bad is still being felt following the firing of former offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt. The main issue that I have with Paul DePodesta is that he is too eager to follow the approach that made him famous with Moneyball. Football is not baseball, contracts are shorter, careers are shorter, and injuries are more severe. That makes things extremely hard to plan for and it makes it almost impossible to build a roster through long term development. I believe that DePodesta has done some good, but overall it is time for change and time for a shift back to traditional NFL practices.
