It is the iconic name, build quality, fit and finish; offers the short reset and short trigger internals giving you the most precise DA/SA combat trigger on the stock market; and offers an extremely competitive magazine capacity at 14 rounds of .45 ACP! The external changes to this gun, over the P226 TacOps, are - for the most part - very subtle. However, all subtlety is lost when your dominant hand wraps around the grip in preparation for a holster draw. Recoil is easily managed with the aid of the beavertail, undercut trigger guard, and overall weight of the gun. For the price range the P227 TacOps comes in at, I think it is very competitive with other heavy-hitters like the FNX 45 Tactical, which offers a few different options that are mainly user preference.
