3 rules I live by as a compliance officer to always feel prepared for on-site audits by inspectors 👇🏼 When you feel one step behind, it fills you with anxiety and the worst-case “what if” questions in the back of your head. This is why staying proactive will always ease this feeling of imposter syndrome questioning, “am I doing this right?” Here are 3 rules to live by as a compliance officer (and take action - implement these today!) 1️⃣ A compliance binder for a centralized location of all important documentation, operating plans, and logs 2️⃣ What’s the point of an SOP if you can’t find it? Create a table of contents of all SOPs, including who authored the document, who reviewed the plan, the date of the last review, and a direct link to the plan. 3️⃣ You don’t know what you know... until you know. This is why internal audits are a critical piece in keeping your sanity and truly knowing what is happening within the business. Audit all record retention, inventory control, labels, and facility compliance, at a minimum, once every 30-days.
