made a silly music video!! i know what ur thinking, why tf is it called ant on a rubber rope?? so let me enlighten you rq. a couple of years back, i was writing a song where i was in such dire need of lyrical inspo that i resorted to flicking through the random article generator on wikipedia. after abt a billion clicks i landed on this article abt a maths puzzle, this paradox called “ant on a rubber rope”. it sounded hard asf and i could detect a metaphor or two in there so, naturally, i decided to steal it. the chorus i came up with went something like this: “hey man, get outta your bubble, get outta your bubble, get outta your bubble, ‘kay? hey man, get outta your bubble, you’re an ant in a lab on a rope made of rubber”. sounds kind of goofy on paper, icl, but u’ll have to take my word for it that it sounded cool in music. trouble is, i just couldn’t make the verses work. so, to cut a long story short i sat on the song for a few years, then finally decided to just rip the verse chords and write an entirely new song that wasn’t abt ants or rubber ropes at all. the name still sounded cool tho, so i stuck with it. the new song I ended up writing is one i am very proud of. i am proud of the lyrics in particular, becos I chiseled away at them for almost 2 weeks, i’m telling you. i sat down every morning and tried to make them work, until they finally did. it was important that they slot together in a perfect, satisfying way in order to match the theme of the song, which is LIFE! life, nature, the universe, everything - it all runs like clockwork, and my words had to portray that idea. so here’s an optimistic one, for a change. i owed it to myself, as a reminder that there’s always a spring after a winter (if you will allow me the cliché). hope u enjoy🙏 follow me on: Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/3aTFO...
