Hello you! In this video, I talk about some of the books I’ve been reading recently, covering a mix of psychology, philosophy, religion, and power dynamics. These books explore deep themes about human nature, influence, belief, and the structures that shape our world. One of the standout reads is Hermann Hesse’s Narcissus and Goldmund, a novel that contrasts the life of the mind and matter. I also mention Hannah Arendt’s The Origins of Totalitarianism, which is fantastic, and she examines the roots of authoritarian regimes and the mechanisms of political control. Other books in this video include Robert Greene’s The Art of Seduction, a deep dive into the psychology of persuasion and human weakness. The Psychology of Jung by Jolande Jacobi which unpacks Carl Jung’s ideas theoretically and practically. I also touch on The Idea of the Holy by Rudolf Otto, a classic in religious philosophy, and Elaine Pagels’ Adam, Eve, and the Serpent, which explores how early Christian ideas about sin and sexuality, amongst other things, shaped Western thought. Let me know in the comments if you'd like to see a video on any of these books and tell me what you’ve been reading lately! #Books #Philosophy #Psychology #HermannHesse #JungianPsychology #ReligiousStudies #totalitarianism #chat #relaxing
