2022 Specialized Kenevo Expert vs 2021 Intense Tazer MX Pro back to back at Horns Hill. Back to back rides are a great way to get a feel for the different characteristics of each bike. I am 6' 2" tall and 190 lbs. My thoughts on each bike after riding them back to back.... 2021 Tazer MX Pro: The full carbon Tazer feels lighter than the Kenevo in motion even those these bikes are within a 2~3 lbs of each other. The smaller and lighter weight 500Wh battery on the Tazer is mounted low in the frame on the Tazer which helps with this sensation. The 505mm reach on the size XL frame Tazer feels perfect for me. The Tazer has a very "moto" look and feel with Ohlins suspension, ODI grips, Renthal handlebars, and Magura brakes along with the mullet 29" front and 27.5" rear wheels. The Shimano EP8 motor provides 85Nm of peak torque and has the EP8 motor rattle that is noticeable at times but generally not an issue. The geometry and Ohlins suspension give the Tazer a very confidence inspiring ride - stable and planted over the chop yet still quick handling. 2022 Kenevo Expert The Kenevo had a big update in 2020 with an all new frame/motor/battery/geometry. With 180mm of travel the new Kenevo is PLUSH! So planted and confidence inspiring for a moto rider like me. Easy to jump off my motocross bikes onto the Kenevo and feel comfortable. There is a solid feel to the Kenevo when hitting the bumps - beefy feeling. The SRAM X01 shifted well and the Code brakes felt strong, especially with the 220mm brake rotors. For being such a monster truck kind of e-bike the Kenevo felt more agile than I expected on the trails. Overall: Both of these bikes are very easy for a moto rider like me to jump on and feel confident and most importantly have a lot of fun riding. The Tazer MX Pro has a lighter weight feel in motion. The Kenevo is super plush and planted feeling and surprisingly agile on the tighter trails. Looking forward to more back to back rides on these bike soon!
