🚂✨ At our last official running day, we were graced with the presence of the Lionel Legacy H7 “Chesapeake & Ohio” #1564, a valued piece from the collection of my railroad buddy Robert Brezina. This locomotive from the Lionel Legacy series represents the pinnacle of steam locomotive design, crafted for the challenging coal routes through the Appalachians. First put into service in the early 1920s and in operation until the late 1950s, the H7 class was specifically designed to handle the demanding freight requirements on difficult terrain. Its articulated design was a significant innovation, providing the necessary flexibility and power to navigate sharp curves and steep grades crucial for mountainous tracks.
