In early 1977, winter had England firmly in it's grip. Across the border in Scotland things were even worse - which is exactly where I was on this night ! The 'Glasgow Apollo' to be precise. I was doing a spot of 'live' sound-mixing for a band called "Clover", which in the fullness of time morphed into "Huey Lewis & The News" ! Clover were touring with 'Lynyrd Skynyrd'. At the end of Clover's set, Lynyrd Skynyrd's sound guy came into the sound booth and flipped open up the cassette player above the sound desk, and tossed me a tape. "There you go man" he said…. "It's a tape of the set you just mixed". Just recently I re-discovered it, and this is a song from that night (2nd of February 1977). The recording was taken directly from the stereo output of the sound-desk, so it is not what you would have heard if you had been sitting in the auditorium - and because of that you'll make a few allowances for the balance in places.
