SOUTH SUDAN, UGANDA AND DRC TRADE CHALLENGES

South Sudan traders have joined their colleagues from Uganda and DRC to submit a petition to the East African Legislative Assembly urging the region to address issues of cross border trade between the three countries. The petition delivered to the Speaker of the East African Legislative Assembly Rt. Hon. Joseph Ntakirutimana urges the East African Community to remove obstacles in the three countries. The Petition also sighted the poor road network linking South Sudan, Uganda and Congo, high cost of Telecommunication tariffs and harassment along the border to be the major hindrance to trade.
