So I did a run of cardboard cutting with the IFS-20. The Bohler M390 blade at 62 HRC held a working edge beautifully. This particular proto didn't even have a fresh edge when this test started. Cardboard boxes are pretty abrasive on edges so this held up pretty good for me. If I recall correctly I have 18dps edge on this one. At the end of the session, it barely slices paper but once I removed the glue on the blade and stropped it for about a dozen passes, the blade was able to slice paper cleanly again. I'm a believer that there is no magic steel and sharpening is inevitable. More to ponder on this in the future. The IFS-20 chassis turned out great for the hands. Going through the entire test without a glove gave me no hot spots at all. However, it was slightly tiring to hold the cardboard boxes for the camera, especially doing it quickly for an uncut video. Operating the knife one handed while handling cardboard boxes turned out intuitive and natural. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the ergonomics of the IFS-20 as a working knife.
