I explain why there isn’t really such a thing as a “long form” or a “short form.” Every Tai Chi form has a name, and those names relate to when, why, and how the form was created. The length is secondary to the structure, intent, and practicality of the movements. The form itself is a method a way of training coordination, continuity, and awareness while staying present from one movement to the next. Practicing a form is not about memorization alone, but about understanding how each posture connects, why it exists, and how it functions within the whole sequence. In this video, I talk about the practical nature of forms, how they were designed, and how consistent form practice trains presence through structured movement. This is a technical and conceptual look at Tai Chi forms, rather than a discussion of styles, trends, or general benefits.
