Dr. Murray Matheson demonstrates how to brush your dog's teeth with and Oral B style electric toothbrush using a dental model and his own dog Judy. Using and electric toothbrush (vs a manual toothbrush) gives you much more brushing power to remove the soft plaque before it become mineralized and forms hard tartar along the gum line that causes gum disease (gingivitis) and subsequent foul breath. Once you dog accepts the vibration of the electric tooth brush it is much easier to use as there is no need for a brushing motion. Just hold the toothbrush over the appropriate teeth and let the brush do the work. Approximately 95% of tartar forms on the outside of the teeth so there is no need to brush the teeth on the inside.
