17 Most Underrated Cars Of All Time 17 of the most forgotten, strange, or underrated cars from around the world. Some were ahead of their time. Others were held back by money problems, odd designs, or just bad luck. But they all deserve another look. We start with the TVR 420 SEAC, a British sports car made with lightweight Kevlar and a powerful Rover V8. Only a few dozen were built before production stopped. Then there’s the Trident Clipper, which had a 5.0-liter Ford V8 under its fiberglass body but couldn’t survive financially. The TVR Tina, designed by Trevor Fiore, looked ready for production, but the company’s financial issues ended it before it began. Italy brings us the O.S.C.A. 1600 GT, a small GT car with Zagato styling and Maserati family roots. For something modern and handmade, the Effeffe Berlinetta was created to bring back the feel of 1950s grand tourers, built entirely by hand. Also from Italy, the one-off De Tomaso Sport 5000 had a Ford V8 and Fantuzzi bodywork but never reached production. Germany gave us the Isdera Imperator 108i, a rare Mercedes-powered supercar with gullwing doors, and only a few dozen were ever made. The Lister Storm, built in the United Kingdom, was one of the fastest four-seat cars of its time with a 7.0-liter Jaguar V12. There are even smaller and weirder cars, like the three-wheeled Berkeley T60, powered by a tiny two-stroke engine, and the Playboy Convertible, one of the first cars with a retractable hardtop. The Byers SR-100 was a sleek, do-it-yourself fiberglass body kit that still inspires builders today. The Apollo 5000 GT mixed American power with Italian style and was sold in very low numbers. Japan had its entry too—the rare and elegant Prince Skyline Sport, shaped by Michelotti before Nissan took over the Skyline name. The Connaught Type D was a forgotten British hybrid supercar project with a small V10 engine. The Jowett Jupiter won at Le Mans in its class. The Chrysler Newport gave big-car luxury at a low price. The Trident Clipper tried to bring muscle and style in one body. And finally, there’s the Alpine M64, a French race car that won its class at Le Mans in 1964. It had a small engine but was built for speed and endurance. All of these cars had something special—and now, it's time to remember them. ____ We do not own the footages/images compiled in this video.
