#PostalPleasures Presents: #Kuwait #Stamps Ep1 - Sheik Abdullah • QEII Overprint • Commemoratives One of my viewers has asked for some pictures of Arab country stamps. I don't have a very big collection of stamps from that area but I am always looking to add more. I did however find a small stack of #Kuwaiti stamps one of my boxes and decided it was the perfect opportunity to make a video before photographing them. These stamps seem to be of high quality with nice designs. I really like the boats, the airplane, and the Kuwait Overprinted and Surcharged Great Britain Queen Elizabeth II Wilding Stamp. The Sheik Abdullah Definitives are striking as well. Kuwait went though several periods of stamps an the currencies changed as well. First they used overprinted stamps from India with Anna and Rupee as the currency. Followed by overprinted Stamps from Great Britain the currency did not change until 1957, then becoming Naye Paise and Rupee. In 1959 Kuwait Issued stamps of original design and the currency was replaced with Fils and Kuwaiti Dinar in 1961.
