🛒 Ingredients: For the Meat Sauce Olive oil 1 tbsp Butter 1 tbsp Onion, diced ½ Garlic, minced 2 cloves Tomato paste 1 tbsp Frozen peas ¾ cup Carrot, diced ½ cup Ground beef 200g Baharat spice blend (see below) 2 tsp Salt 1 tsp Chicken stock ¾ cup For the Rice Butter 1 tbsp Olive oil 1 tbsp Spaghetti (broken into small pieces) ½ cup Boiling water 500ml Basmati rice 1 cup Salt 1 tsp Baharat Spice Blend (can all be added to the stew) Black pepper ½ tsp Cinnamon ½ tsp Clove ⅛ tsp Cumin ¼ tsp Nutmeg ¼ tsp Smoked paprika ¼ tsp Coriander seeds 12 (or ground coriander ½ tsp) Cardamom pod 1 (remove seeds from the pod) 👩🏻🍳 Instructions: In a pan, heat olive oil and butter over medium-high heat. Add the onion and cook for 8-10 minutes until it starts turning golden. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute. Then, add the ground beef, breaking it apart, and cook for 4-5 minutes until browned. Add 2 tsp of baharat and 1 tsp of salt, and cook for 1 minute. Add the diced carrot and tomato paste, stirring well. Then, add the chicken stock and adjust seasoning to taste. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer on low heat for 20 minutes. Uncover, add frozen peas, and simmer for another 6-7 minutes until the sauce thickens. Adjust seasoning to taste. While the meat sauce is simmering, prepare the rice: Heat butter and olive oil over medium-high heat. Break the spaghetti into small pieces and sauté for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Add boiling water, rice, and salt. Cover the pot, lower the heat, and simmer for 12-14 minutes until the liquid is absorbed and the rice and pasta are tender. Serve the stew and rice with yogurt, and garnish with coriander if desired. For the Baharat spice blend: If you have pre-ground spices, use them.
