That morning, he went on Instagram Live and told viewers they were “about to see something they’ve never seen before.” Moments later, he shot and killed his ex-wife while streaming it. The video showed her sitting on the ground, visibly injured, as he accused her of causing him trouble. You could hear a child crying in the background — believed to be their baby daughter — which made the video even more disturbing for anyone who saw it. After killing her, he fled the house with a gun and moved through the area of Gradačac. During this rampage, he killed two more people — reportedly a father and son who lived nearby — and injured several others, including a police officer who tried to stop him. For several hours, the police launched a massive manhunt across the region. Roads were blocked, drones were used, and special forces were deployed because Sulejmanović was heavily armed and still posting updates on Instagram, taunting authorities and describing what he was doing. Eventually, later that same day, police found him — but before they could arrest him, he shot himself and died by suicide. The murders — especially the fact that one was broadcast live on social media — horrified people not only in Bosnia but internationally. There were mass protests across Bosnia in the following days. Thousands of people, especially women, marched holding signs that said things like “Stop femicide” and “The system failed her.” Many felt that the woman’s death could have been prevented because she had allegedly told police before that Sulejmanović had threatened and abused her. The government later opened investigations into how the police and courts handled her complaints, and also how social media allowed the live video to remain online for as long as it did before being taken down Timestamps: 0:00 - Intro 2:47 - Nermin: Evil Murder 5:40 - My First Impressions 6:27 - Nermin’s Early Life 7:30 - He Meets His Wife Niza 8:40 - My Second Thoughts 9:45 - Nermin Beating Her 13:14 - My Third Thoughts 13:37 - Niza Runs Away 16:40 - Murder Beginnings
