Time Switch : Non run Sangamo S317.1.22 investigated.

Following-on from the out-take video of this Rate Changer, I will now investigate why it did not want to power up and run. Let's go! Up for examination today: Sangamo S317.1.22 Rate Changer. In a previous video (which was supposed to be a powered-up vid but turned into an out-take bloop) this timer was supposed to have been powered up and showing its power indicator rotating and all of that tasty stuff, but.... Probably not having been serviced since 1986, and not being serviced since I have owned it either, the poor thing gave up and was crying out for help by jigging its power indicator back-and-forth. Like it or not..... It's servicing time. In this video, I give it a quickie jig-and-poke, just to coax it back into life to see if that does the trick, but here's the thing.... Even though I do get it rotating again, it is not happy, and I am not either. This thing needs a full-on strip-down and restore, and that is something not to be taken lightly. Never having seen another one of these become available, and being the only unit I own, if this strip-down all goes Pete-Tong, that will be the end of it. I am just going to have to 'bite-the-bullet' pluck up the courage, and dismantle the poor thing and get all the gunk out. The worrying thing is.... I STILL HAVE NOT done the video where I pair this up with my S309.2 dual-rate kWh meter which is of a similar styling to this. One of these timers alongside a S309.2 looks PROPER TASTY, and I still have not done that video! :-O So , for two VERY GOOD REASONS, I seriously need the strip-down and restoration of this Rate Changer to go to plan.
