he National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) recently published a highly anticipated report on the state of organ donation and transplantation in the U.S. The findings suggest that the U.S. organ transplant system is "demonstrably inequitable" – in particular, people of color and people with disabilities are significantly less likely to be referred for a transplant or receive a transplant, and many donated organs often go unused. Thusly, the report recommends a number of tactics to increase fairness and equity, reduce donated organ waste, and improve the system's overall performance. This Conversation Series event will focus on a robust discussion on the findings of this report, with the goal of sparking action and impacting the priorities of the community of practice. Hosted on April 21, 2022.
