The SCO Summit 2025 concluded in Tianjin, China, with the adoption of the Tianjin Declaration, focusing on security, connectivity, socio-economic cooperation, and the vision of a multipolar world order. At the Summit, the Prime Minister called for decisive action against terrorism, highlighting the Pahalgam attack, and urged SCO nations to fight terror financing and radicalisation without double standards. He outlined three key pillars of India’s cooperation with SCO – Security, Connectivity, and Opportunity. PM Modi supported projects like Chabahar Port and the International North-South Transport Corridor, while also proposing a Civilizational Dialogue Forum to deepen cultural ties. The SCO also welcomed Laos as a new partner, expanding the grouping to 27 countries (10 members and 17 partners). But what exactly is the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO)? Founded in 2001, it is a permanent intergovernmental body with members including India, China, Russia, Pakistan, and Central Asian nations, working towards regional stability, trust, and a fairer international order. Watch this video to understand the outcomes of the Tianjin Summit, India’s stand, and the importance of SCO in today’s geopolitics. #SCO #SCO2025 #TianjinSummit #PahalgamAttack #ShanghaiCooperationOrganisation #Geopolitics #InternationalRelations #CurrentAffairs #UPSC #UPSCSyllabus #UPSCMotivation #visionias
