There are many types of glaucoma. Childhood glaucoma refers to the presence of glaucoma in a child. Congenital glaucoma is the common term used for a glaucoma diagnosed in infancy or early childhood. It is also called infantile glaucoma. Dr Anil Kumar Mandal, who heads the initiative in treating childhood glaucoma at LVPEI 'added that early intervention in children born or in their early age with known symptoms of early glaucoma should be seen by an ophthalmologist specialized in this field so that corrective surgery and treatment can be provided.
