I truly think it captured my vision exceptionally well and sounds like if Daylight Dies or Swallow The Sun decided to perform it. Or well, my former band. I absolutely love, love, love, those guitar melodies. It still has that end glitch, but it's fine. I'll deal with it. I also like the very end of the song where it sounds like something metal is in the background. Original Text: The AI Band here is intended to be me. Although the structure is a bit different, it is in the same style as my former band. So what happened? Well, that's very simple. The lyrics had been written around 2017 and I put the call out for a female vocalist. I didn't need much, folks. I only needed her to sing four lines. The lines you're hearing in the song. Now the section in the verse where you hear female vocals here wasn't supposed to happen, but I liked it enough to leave it. The endpoint of the chorus was also not supposed to have my vocals backing it, but it worked. This probably would have been a good idea on the original track, had it came to fruition. So how much was I actually offering for four lines? A hundred dollars. Not kidding. I was offering a hundred bucks to any female singer who would sing those four lines on this song and NOT ONE DMed me interested in the offer. so ultimately I scrapped this song, wrote another version, that went on the album and the rest is history. There's also no band drama here. That's another song which I'll be releasing soon and I'm still miffed about that years later. The song has a glitch at the end, but I don't even care because it's just fucking brilliant. And I've tried several covers to match what you heard here - nothing hits the chorus like this. This was perfect. Yes, it is long. People who are familiar with the project know that we did long songs. It's melodic doom/death and that's what the hell I sang for - we got a bit proggy and weird at times, but this the heart of what we were. So here it is, the lost track, made possible by AI.
