Watch Erin Morton, a junior BFA Musical Theatre student at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, performing a cover of Radiohead’s “Creep” with music arrangement and direction by Professor Sarah Folsom and student Jacob Priddy, a second-year MM Orchestral Conducting major. Also shared via CCM Musical Theatre's TikTok, the performance has gone viral with 11.4M views on TikTok! The performance features Morton on vocals, with CCM students Priddy on piano, Sophia Troyer on bass, Michel Dorst on guitar and Aaron Coffenberry on drums. Sound production by CCM Sound Design and Technology student Reagan Warvel. Video by CCM Musical Theatre student Sydney Short. CCM Musical Theatre's annual "Jam Band" is part of a class recital/”jam” that features sophomore, junior and senior Musical Theatre majors performing popular music hits backed by a band of CCM student instrumentalists and a student sound engineer. They work with faculty and a music directing student all year to prepare covers and mashups of hit songs from the worlds of rock, RnB, pop and more. Jam Band was started by CCM Musical Theatre professors Sarah Folsom and Keyona Willis to help their students develop the commercial music skills that are required in today's Musical Theatre industry — things like mic technique, creating new song arrangements, writing lead sheets, working with instrumentalists and performing a wide range of vocal styles.
