We camped close to the nature park Beverin and started our hike in the tiny village of Tschappina, coffee in hand and no real rush, just the plan to follow a quiet ridge near Piz Beverin. The trail led us past sleepy sheep, curious cows, and through an enchanted forest glowing green with moss. From there, the climb opened into a narrow ridge with sweeping views of Graubünden, valleys stretching forever and light spilling across the peaks. After a few hours, we stopped for lunch at a small mountain restaurant where locals served a dish with Bündnerfleisch, salty and perfect after the climb. The descent was slower, softer, the cows grazing in the sun, a marmot watching us from the hillside, and wildflowers glowing pink against the grass. By the time we reached the village again, tired legs met full hearts. Route: Ridge hike near Piz Beverin (approx. 3.5-4.0 h) Start: Tschappina | Highlight: Glaserggrat trail + mountain lunch stop Spotted: Cows, sheep & one very photogenic marmot This is what the Sunday Morning Hiking Club is about: no records, no rush, just rediscovering the peace that comes with an early start and a good trail.
