I decided to repot my Bird's-nest fern because the leaves were turning a bit brown. "Repotting" (changing pot) or "potting up" (using a bigger pot) is necessary to provide more space for root growth and to refresh the soil, ensuring the plant continues to thrive. Here's a short version of basic care tips for a Bird's-nest fern: Light: Indirect light is best. Avoid direct sunlight. Watering: Keep soil consistently moist, but not soggy. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Humidity: High humidity is preferred. Mist the leaves regularly or use a pebble tray to increase moisture. Temperature: Keep in a warm environment, ideally between 18-27°C (65-80°F). Soil: Well-draining potting mix with organic material like peat moss or compost. Fertilizing: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 2-4 weeks during the growing season. (OPTIONAL) Pruning: Trim yellow or brown leaves to encourage new growth. Repotting: Repot every 1-2 years, or when the roots become crowded. Follow these guidelines, and your Bird's-nest fern should thrive! My soil-mix recipe: 1. 1/3 universal soil 2. Pine bark 3. Perlite (optional to have leca "clay balls"). This could be a bit pricy! The Clay Watering Spikes is optional. I'll make a new video about this discussing it's benifits. If you ever need any of the plant accessories that was used in this video, you're welcome to comment and I'll answer you as soon as I can.
