The Tower of Hercules, also known as Flavum Brigantium, is the only Roman lighthouse still in use today. Located in A Coruña, Galicia, this ancient structure is steeped in myth and mystery. According to Irish mythology, the tower was built by Breoghan, a descendant of Fenius, Scotia, and Goídel Glas, and from its heights, his son Ith first glimpsed Ireland. Greek mythology also ties the tower to the legendary hero Hercules. After completing his 10th Labor, Hercules buried the head of Geryon alongside his weapons, commanding a city to be built at the site. Recent sources suggest that the tower was constructed over an even older structure, possibly of Phoenician origin. In this video, we explore the fascinating legends and historical connections that link the Tower of Hercules to both Irish and Greek mythology. 🌍 Subscribe for more insights into ancient legends, archaeology, and history. #TowerOfHercules #IrishMythology #GreekMythology #Breoghan #Hercules #PhoenicianOrigins #RomanLighthouse #Galicia #AncientHistory #Archaeology
